Resistors to Trump's targeted aggression showed up at the Detroit City Council meeting on 6/10/25.

Detroit City Council Shows Little Concern Over Trump’s Targeted Aggression

Detroit’s Anti Fascist Organizing Coalition (AFOC) anticipated assaults on American cities. Plus, they cited the probability that Detroit could be a target of Trump’s targeted aggression. Concerned citizens previously communicated their concerns with fascist trends and have been, so far, met with unresponsiveness.

At the June 10th weekly formal session of the Detroit City Council, half of the fifty people speaking during the open comments section used their time to voice concerns that the city could be targeted. They advocated for a resolution proactively rejecting Detroit’s subjugation to federal action like that going on in Los Angeles. Citizens said the resolution (see it here) communicates the need for increased civil defense awareness.

Outside of the official meeting, two council members did communicate interest and suggested there might be opportunity to further learn and explore at their respective district meetings.

The message was clear through various 1-minute attempts to get it across

One message went like this. “Everybody knows Detroit is a proud city that stands on its own. Trump has targeted Detroit before and he is pushing to see how far he can go with his fascist racist tyranny. So when he says he is coming, he will. The resolution says be proactive, don’t accept MAGA lawlessness; don’t let them force Detroit. Detroit policies its own. Please send a message to the country and all Detroiters.”

The buzzer went off before the punch line could be delivered. The guardsmen themselves especially need to know there is such a resolution, because they will each have to be making a personal decision of whether they will follow unlawful orders.
