Trump openly delivers on both hate and vengeance. Just hear his words and see his actions. Along with his minions, they are the way, the means and the end, of fascism. The ongoing push for a church-state merger had the evil foresight to target our eager lonely young men. Young men have not been well-served by government, society, or the churches.
Just like he manipulates “Christianity”, Trump doesn’t care for young men any more than he can use them
Everything is expendable in the twisted good-versus-evil arena. Turning Point USA did not give young men a positive path. It served as an extension of MAGA-type extremism, featuring masculine self-determination that holds its adherents blameless. Some young men get fed up, rejecting the hate doctrine. And then what becomes of them? Everybody knows of at least one example (the misguided shooter). There are distraught others.
Put yourself in the shoes of a lonely young man who felt the draw of Turning Point. He heard pointed messages about how to take charge of his life, when so much is missing and doesn’t make sense. He’s encouraged, makes connections, and falls to the arguments that will take him out of the social chaos. He’s getting hard and fast indoctrination in context of the smiteful God, but he cannot reconcile the persistent hate, marginalized peoples, and racism. He wants out, but that means breakage with family, and a return to loneliness. If he had so little support before, how can he possibly fare if he breaks away? How can he be supported? What is the real, timely, personal option that will make him whole in his time of need?

Turning Point USA was able to infiltrate colleges at will, in sharp contrast to students that, for example, wanted to protest the Gaza slaughter. This is more than just a double standard. You have to look at who is pushing and tolerating and censoring the messages. It is our old feckless establishment politicians, in high-profit service to oligarchs.
The church-state merger is a death knell, whether it is official or de facto
The state now has power to go in masked and cancel people who don’t kneel. They are proud of it, and they are making it clear they want everything and everybody. It is not Christian. It is sin. Call it the harvesting of the USA.
The church-state merger delivers on the dreaded existential threat, the one against both the Christian faith and democracy. If not turned around, we are entering open fascism.
USA patriots and true Christians need to realize that the problems are bipartisan
Joe “I’m a Zionist” Biden began the unfettered slaughter of Palestinians, which is key to the church-state merger doctrine. Plus, significantly, Biden exercised an iron fist against college students who tried to exercise their free speech against the un-erasable Gaza assault on humanity. To protect a genocide, Biden started the current establishment ramp-up against the First Amendment. The oppressed students are stuck with significant hurtful after-effects, and the genocide goes on.
Thankfully, there is now some positive dialogue about the open assault against the First Amendment. I like Jimmy Kimmel and am glad he is going back on the air. But it worrisome that we as a people bring more attention and pressure on behalf of an entertainer than we do to stop an inhumane war. It is also wrong that a stance against the war gets you targeted as a left-wing extremist. Things are so skewed that there effectively is no left.
As bad as the in-your-face assault against free speech is, it is mild in comparison to the backroom communication consolidation efforts that are fast underway, as documented in today’s NY Times by Thomas Edsall. These are global phenomena. The USA was the leader of democratic freedom, but we are now setting the world’s fascist tempo. As prominent author Arundhati Roy put in on Mehdi Hasan’s substack, “the carcass of Western liberal democracy is under the rubble in Gaza.”
Sorry to close contemplating such atrocities. But young men are still important, even if they must be worked ‘one starfish at a time’.
